Quirós, the county of Cortes, is situated in the South-Central area of Asturias and is well communicated by both national and regional roads, see Route 1 (Oviedo-Cortes/Quirós)..

RUTA 1 (Oviedo - Cortes/Quirós)

Route 1: Oviedo - Cortes / Quirós

Go round Oviedo on the A-66 to the exit marked ‘Grado-La Espina’. Exit, and go for 7 kms on the A-63, and take the ‘Trubia’ exit. Once in Trubia, cross the bridge over the River Nora, and turn left onto the AS-228 in the direction of Proaza and Quirós.
Continue on this road for 33 kms, going through Tuñón and Proaza. Continue on this road till Bárzana (NB the road converts to the AS-229 on nearing Quirós)

Cortes: 9Km, from Santa Marina.

Go through Bárzana, and continue for 2 kms till the village of Santa Marina where you cross a bridge, after which the road signs direct you left to Cortes, 9 kms further on, after the villages of Cuevas and Fresnedo.

The last servide station is in the locality of Proaza.
